It's time to move on. This fish didn't land in the boat. As Bill Watters and I told you before anyone else in Toronto did yesterday (always fun to break stories...and I am fine admitting when we are wrong, even finer admitting when we're not first to a story but we WERE yesterday!), Brian Burke is going to fulfill the final year of his contract as GM of the Anaheim Ducks.
Life is still pretty good in Duck-land. Great core of young players mixed with veterans. Chris Kunitz, Ryan Getzlaf and especially Corey Perry, all might be even better than anyone thought. So they didn't go far this year, it doesn't mean they're not an elite team, and Burke, along with Bryan Murray's shrewd moves and two very good back-to-back coaches in Mike Babcock and Randy Carlyle, leave the Ducks in great shape.
